Rumored ‘GTA 5’ PC release date from Amazon gains credibility

The online retailer previously confirmed that “Injustice: Gods Among Us” and “Mortal Kombat” would come out for computers. The two fighting games were first released on consoles and originally weren't expected to be ported to the PC platform.

“Grand Theft Auto V” will most likely follow a similar path. A customer service representative from Amazondisclosed that the open-world action-adventure video game would be coming out in North America on March 12 and then in Europe on March 14. An official announcement is expected to be made by the publisher, Rockstar Games, later today.

“GTA 5” features a massive campaign with three playable main characters along with a robust “Grand Theft Auto Online” multiplayer mode. The aforementioned Rockstar Games shipped 29 million copies of the software product on just the PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles, making it the fastest selling video game in history.

Along with “GTA 5” on PC, fans are also demanding ports to the PS4 and Xbox One. Another representative from Amazon recently stated that Rockstar Games could share some information of the next-generation console versions by the first week of 2014.
